Type : Projet
From July 8 to 12, 2024, some thirty Agrisud employees from 10 countries met in Libourne to exchange ideas with each other and with members of the Board of Directors. This seminar, organized as part of the Agriter program, provided an opportunity to work together on the challenges of measuring impact and scaling up.
What impact can Agrisud's actions have?
Since its launch in 2018, the Agriter program has made significant advances in Agrisud's territorial approach. For 6 years, the methods and tools have been tested and disseminated in various field projects in Cambodia, Laos, Haiti, Côte d'Ivoire, Senegal, Morocco and Madagascar, among others.
Locally-initiated dynamics have demonstrated their potential to transform family farming towards more sustainable and resilient models. They are varied, and results differ according to the stakeholders involved, available resources and socio-political contexts.
Beyond the spin-offs for VSEs, it is now necessary to analyze and document the impact of projects on local areas. This was the focus of discussions and group work held last week with Agrisud staff.
Several workshops were held to identify the key elements to be taken into account in the short, medium and long term. Discussions were also held on the impact of Agrisud's actions in relation to the SDGs (Development Goals).
Changing scale to have a wider impact
Agrisud's ambition is to amplify its actions. Beyond the growth of the organization, we need to think about the different ways in which this change of scale can have a wider impact: more impact for the populations we support in our current territories, more populations supported in our current territories and/or new populations supported in new territories.
The workshops organized during the seminar provided an opportunity to work on the various levers to be activated: new avenues of financing, “doing things with others”, broadening the themes and geographies of intervention, wider dissemination of knowledge and skills, etc.
After 5 days of constructive exchanges and convivial moments, the Agrisud teams will continue to implement projects based on the reflections and trajectories defined together, involving their various partners.
