In the coming weeks, Agrisud International and the City of Libourne will sign a decentralized cooperation protocol with Diembering, a medium-sized city in Senegal.
"It's a great association that has been in Libourne for thirty years and, finally, we're doing something together."
In the middle of summer, Philippe Buisson, Mayor of Libourne, and Agrisud International announced the launch of a decentralized cooperation project between Libourne and Diembering in Senegal. A town of 21,000 inhabitants with a strong focus on agriculture and a quest for diversification.
“Agrisud, often overlooked, is a behemoth in terms of international solidarity, recognized and respected by the Region. It's a source of pride not only for Libourne and the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region, but also for France,” says the mayor.
It's hard to be more enthusiastic. A protocol should be signed in the coming weeks. €30,000 will be committed for at least three years.
"Everything will go to the management and efficiency of this partnership. Not a single euro will be spent on trips by elected representatives who, if they have to go, will do so at their own expense. Today, video calls are possible", the elected official is keen to point out.
